Nutritionist Careers Information
Learn About Nutritionist Careers
As recently as a couple of decades ago, there was no such thing
as a career in nutrition. Nutritionist jobs were a dead end. Things
have changed a lot since then. Health consciousness is at its
highest level ever, and there is more science to back it up than
there used to be. This is why nutritionist careers are such a
promising option for anyone looking for a rewarding field to work
in. If you haven't considered a nutritionist career, you really
should. It feels great to be helping people live healthier, longer
lives, and it is a lot easier to train to be a nutritionist than to
be a doctor!
I certainly did not start out to have a nutritionists career. On
the contrary, I used to not be a very healthy person. When I was
growing up, I virtually lived off of junk food. It is embarrassing
to say now, but I used to drink a 2 liter bottle of Coca-Cola every
day. It was actually my high school guidance counselor – who was
also a nutritionist – who really set me straight. She told me that,
unless I started living a more healthy life, I would run into
serious health problems in my early 30s. She really worked to
change my life around. I started exercising, eating right, and even
sleeping eight hours a night. She showed me how much you can change
someone's life with nutritionistcareers.
Nutritionist Careers Facts
What I tell my parents that I wanted a nutritionist
career, I definitely met with a mixed reception. On
the one hand, they were proud of me for deciding what I wanted to
spend my life doing. On the other hand, however,
nutritionistcareers were not at their short list of what they
wanted their kids to be doing. They didn't feel like they would
have bragging rights if their children were involved in
nutritionist careers. They wanted me to be a doctor, a lawyer, or a
rich business executive.
Nowadays, however, my folks know how important nutritionist
careers are. You see, I work as a community nutrition expert for
one of the local schools. My job is very important – I help plan
out the lunch menu for almost 2000 children. None of them know my
face, and few of them realize that I have had a role in selecting
the lunches that they eats, but nonetheless I have touched their
lives.
